TEX DRIVE IN: HOT "ONO" MALSASDAS

by Slapshot1

Tex Drive In is a local favorite and famous on the Island for thier Hot Fresh Malasadas. Malasadas are a Portuguese Donut rolled in sugar and you may have it filled with fruit if you choose to do so. You can't just order one. Take my word for it and enjoy them with a hot cup of Kona coffee. Stop in the next time you are on The Big Island and treat your taste buds to Sheer Heaven!!! Tex is not just famous for thier baked items, but for a variety of foods such as American, Mexican, Asain, Portuguese and Hawaiian, which is in thier arsenal of delights. The restaurant itself caters to all costumer's needs. One can drive through or go inside to eat. We chose to sit out in the patio which is a very relaxed atmosphere. The prices are very resonable for the quality and quantity of food that you recieve. There also seems to be something to satisfy everyone on their menu. They serve breakfast...

Oceanaria at Pacific Beach Hotel: Have brunch at the "Oceanaria" Restaurant!

by joiwatani

Oceanaria is the name of the restaurant - it is because of its huge aquarium! I am not sure how much gallons of water in there but I tell you, it is about three stories of water! The tables of the restaurant are adjacent to the aquarium so you can see the sting rays swimming and all those tropical fishes. It is absolutely entertaining to just see the blowfish come close to the window and look at you while you are eating! The hotel workers, the waiters and waitresses are very warm and friendly. The food is excellent. Try their freshly-cut papayas! Before you get in, let the servers know what kind of breakfast you are getting - they have the hot breakfast and the continental breakfast. If you choose the hot breakfast, it is more expensive by $10.00. The continental only includes the fruits and the cold food like cereals. The hot breakfast includes everything - French toast (great!),...

The Top of Waikiki: Spectacular Views and Delectable Dining!

by BethThomasPatterson

Make a reservation and be prepared to see all of Honolulu at this fantastic REVOLVING restaurant in Waikiki. Situated approximately 30 stories high, you're guaranteed to enjoy delicious, creative cuisine and beautiful views. I recommend dinner for 6:00, so you have time to enjoy the sunset.Waitstaff is excellent and knowledgeable, wine list offers many selections for accomodating budget and those with a discriminating palate. The menu offers vegetarian entrees (that are a little on the heavy side with cheese!) but presented beautifully. For an EXTRA special treat, I recommend the Beef Tenderloin, served on a hot rock. This appetizer is seared on a hot stone and is presented tableside sizzling and popping. Definitely a fun dish to try!

Sam Choy`s Diamond Head Restaurant: Great food

by sunshine9689

The food was AMAZING! We ordered a meal package (forgot its name) and everything we got was just so tasty and beautiful. The service was great too.We paid $100 for the dinner for two which is not cheap really, but the experience was unforgettable and I sure will go there again during future visits. Everything was cool, kapakahi mash potato was very interesting. I make it now myself at home (pretty easy recipe which can be found on-line).

dish: Save Money and Eat Like a King!

by peachie1972

Okay, there's nowhere like this in the whole state of Hawaii. It's a place called dish on Maui and it saved our vacation in May. It's ready to cook delicious dinner entrees, salads and desserts. All you have to do it throw in your oven or bbq poolside. It literally saved us hundreds on our vacation. Check out their website www.dishsimple.com. Connie They have a fresh fish every month and their chicken enchiladas is to die for. They have 14 different menu items every month, it's hard to choose a favorite. KILLER DESSERTS!!

Poipu Beach Broiler: Good Hawaiian food

by jaros

Not on the beach, but near it. Modest decoration enhanced by open windows which allow one to feel part of the environment. Our plate of the day included generous servings of rice with coconut, mahimahi, and potato-macaroni salad. Delicious and satisfying.

Pacific Beach Hotel, east end o'Waikiki near Duke: 3 storey aquarium next to your table !

by SethNess

This is actually 3 restaurants alongside a 3-storey aquarium. Each restaurant has a different theme. I believe the choices are American, Sushi, and Chinese. Reserve a table next to the aquarium, and watch tuna/jack/scuba divers and so on swim next to your table. If you call ahead and say "it's a birthday/anniversary/some other special event", then the scuba diver in the tank will bring a message-board to the window near your table, and tie fishfood to the board, to give you an additional thrill.Lots of fun, especially if you don't have time to visit Sea Life Park or Hanauma Bay or Waikiki aquarium, or just can't get enough of aquariums. Food ? Uhhh... I barely remember the food. It was quite good, but frankly, I wasn't thinking about my dinnerplate.

Ono Hawaiian Food: THE # 1 in Hawaiian food

by TropicGirl77

This is by far the best Hawaiian food I have tasted yet! The restaurant is small, and crowded, but after you taste their menu, you will not wonder why people flock to get this ONO HAWAIIAN FOOD! You will find lots of posters/pictures of famous people who have dined here ... service with real ALOHA! The Hawaiian combination plate is the bomb! Included on this order was kalua pig (roast pork), laulau (pork and butterfish baked in taro leaves) pipikaula (beef jerky, hawaiian style) lomi lomi salmon (diced tomotoes, salted salmon and onions), rice, poi and haupia (coconut pudding).
