'Ono Hawaiian Foods: Delicious Hawaiian Food
Affectionately known simply as 'Onos to the local people, this place serves some very good Hawaiian food. The word "'ono" is Hawaiian, meaning "delicious", which best describes the food here. There's *always* a line of customers (both locals and tourists) waiting to get in. It's a small restaurant, but the wait is well worth it.If you want to try some authentic Hawaiian food, I recommend Ono's. Among the dishes they serve are homemade laulau (ti-leaf wrapped meats, vegetables and fish), kalua pig (steamed pork), lomi salmon (a mixture of salmon, tomato, onions, and green onions), beef stew and pipikaula (Hawaiian-style beef jerky). You can also eat haupia, which is a Hawaiian coconut dessert. If you eat here, I suggest getting either the Combination Plate or the Kalua Pig Plate. The Combo Plate is *very* large and filling and can easily be shared by two people.
