Dew Drop Inn: Chinese hole-in-the-wall
This is a no-nonsense, six-table little local eatery that tends toward northern Chinese dishes. No reservations except for large groups and bring your own beer or wine. Daily specials are posted on a hand-written sign, and there is a "photo album" of dishes available for the neophyte. All the dishes are family style, so it is best to have a group of four or more. Orders come out quickly because local people expect to eat and leave; there is little lingering. The fast turnover will make you happy, if you are one of the ones outside the door waiting for a table! Waits are longer on the weekends between 6 and 7:30 pm, when you may have to figure a half hour at the longest. The restaurant's name and its intent are part of the place's limited-English charm. Try the madofu (spicy soybean cake) or the spicy beef with crepe-like wrappers.
