One of 54 holes on Kapalua Golf Course by deecat At the Maui Ritz-Carlton Kapalua Resort there are 54 championship holes of golf available, for a price. There is also a fine Golf Academy on the property. While we walked around exploring the resort, we took this photograph of one of the golf holes. We inquired about golf, and, not surprisingly, discovered that the cost was quite prohibitive for us. We would have to rent clubs, buy a glove, balls, a shirt with a collar and golf shoes. We could not even afford the price of a round of golf, any yet all the equipment. So, we passed. But, for those of you with money, go for it! They are fantastic courses.
Needed to golf on these courses: 1. Money 2. Golf Clubs 3. Golf glove and spikeless golf shoes 4. Proper attire: shirt with collar and slacks or a pair of shorts that reach just above the knee. 5. Plenty of golf balls and tees It's best to golf in Hawaii in the early Fall or late Spring because of the weather. Tennis Courts at The Mahana by deecat While staying for a month at The Mahana Condominiums on Kaanapali Beach in Maui, we were able to use the tennis courts for free. We certainly took advantage of that "perk". Allan and I played together several times, and Allan played doubles with other men, most of whom were younger than he. However, he usually won the games. He is a "scrappy" player; he lets no shot go by! We were even able to play at night because the courts had lights. They were excellent hard courts, and we enjoyed playing on them.
Good pair of tennis shoes. Tennis Racket. Tennis Balls. Tennis shorts. Hat with a bill. Sun Glasses. Shirt with Collar. Water Bottled filled with cold water. Leave a Comment Theme: OtherAddress: The Mahana Condo Resort on Kaanapali Beach

Skateboarding ramps by TropicGirl77 Thanks to another VT'er, (bigern) I checked up on the skateboard facility on Hickam AFB. I'm not into seeing the kiddos get hurt, so I usually watch long enough for them to show off their skills, and move on! There is a pond, and pit, and many other ramps in the open. One fee of $5 keeps you there until they close down for the evening ...
Bring your own equipment! They do have rental gear, but be warned ... they have an aweful odor about them!!! You can use the ramps with skateboard and blades, and even some ramps can be used for scooters and bicycles. From the main gate, stay on the main road, follow to hangars on right ... you will see it.

Mililani Soccer Club by TropicGirl77 Soccer seems to be the hot sport here on the islands, much as it has become very popular in the rest of the mainland states. Both of my sons have played in area teams, my oldest sticking it out for several season and his team making first in the silver division. In my opinion, this has taught youth discipline and dedication in staying with the team.
Many divisions take teams stateside for tournaments, but also do many teams fly over here for tournaments. Bring all your gear, as you will more than likely pay a higher price for fogotten items. Sports Authority is our main soccer sports store, though not limited to. Leave a Comment Theme: OtherDirections: Contact statewide AYSO or HYSA organizations for information

Official 2003 ProBowl Emblem by TropicGirl77 Be there! This is always sold out, and be warned, get your tickets EARLY, or it's the Yellow section for you. Each of my family roots for a different team, so our section of the bleachers is highly competitive in itself.
No bags or backpacks, no outside food or drinks ... all must be left in your vehicle before you enter the stadium grounds for the game. WAIT ... but bring everything you need for a tailgate party, and plan on being there early for better parking spots. Late comers will find themselves parking in overflows, and when the game is over ... there will be TRAFFIC. Parking fee is $5. Horsebackriding in Waipio Valley by KiNyA I found horsebackriding in the wildness pretty extreme! It was just awsome and if I'm ever back to Hawaii I'm going to do this mad thing again.
It's good to be dressed well because of the bugs. :-) Leave a Comment Theme: Extreme SportsDirections: Waipio Valley

Great trip on a zodiac raft through Hawaii Tours, jump on a zodiac and check out lava tubes, blow holes, caves and whales if you are there in January. It' a fourteen mile tour along the coast of Kona. We stopped at Catain Cook's and had an awesome lunch and snorkeled. When we arrived at Captain Cook's we anchored and then out of no where bam a whale ten feet away from the boat. Great time. The captain of the boat.. Yes his name was Jack!!! Dared me to eat some strange clam like thing off a rock inside a cave and I did it!!!! He was the greatest tour operator on the island! Theme: Boating/SailingAddress: Kona
