I am just going to talk about the general sports. Of course people in Boise are all about the Broncos, which is the Boise State University team. They have lost of sports including footbal, which is real big, soccer, wrestling, gymnastics among others!!!!

I went rafting down the South Fork of the Payette River, about 50 miles North of Boise, Idaho. We took a guided river rafting tour with the Cascade Raft Company, and it was a lot of fun. You can also go kayaking; we just went rafting. We took the tour called "The Rush" - a half day trip down the Lower South Fork. There were calm periods during our trip, and there were also some pretty good rapids. We went during the 1:30 PM tour, and it was hot, but the river was cold, so it worked out pretty well. A morning tour (starts @ 9:30 AM) or a full day tour (starts @ 8:30 AM) seems like it would be a cold trip down the river, so I definitely recommend the afternoon tour.
Equipment: If you go through a rafting tour company, you will be provided with everything you need. If you are already an expert rafter going on your own, then you know better than I do what equipment you need to bring. I do not think you should take this part of the river without a guide if you aren't an expert rafter.

The Boise State football team cracked the top ten in the national rankings this year and with the narrow loss to Louisville, they got some recognition nationally.
Boise State has only been known for its blue turf and has always been hammered by those "hated" California schools, now, they have a bunch of those "hated" California players on the team to help them win.
Equipment: Beer.

Yes, we get the Utah Jazz preseason games here sometimes, it really excites me to no end, the Jazz, with Matt Harpring and that ultra thin Kirilinko, that is the best.
Thank you, Larry Miller, you car salesman extraordinaire.
Equipment: Beer, lots of beer.

Great fun! I had the place all to myself for it was the first day of real good snowfall and it was a weekday!
Be sure to buy your tickets ahead of time at the local grocery store.
