The Idaho Falls regional airport is quite nice, and the fare I got was good. Far better than flying into Salt Lake City, then driving up. It was worth the few dollars more to skip the 5 hour bus ride from Salt Lake.
The airport is close to the intersection of I-15 and 20. In fact, if you're coming south on 20, say, from Rexburg, and *don't* turn onto I-15, you go right into the airport.
Several rental cars companies are in the airport. The rental desks are in the main terminal hall, which isn't too unusual, but the rental cars are just out the door. They're probably closer than public parking area. The rental area doesn't have the usual check-out or check-in kiosks or folks.
When returning a rental car, park anywhere in the company's section, write the mileage (and gas) on your rental agreement, then go to the rental desk in the terminal. Yes, I know, its on the rental agreement. But I was so used to an employee checking in the car (and checking the mileage), I didn't bother reading it. Theme: Airplane

Walk, ride a bicycle, or skate around the greenbelt in downtown Idaho Falls. Views of the falls are on the west bank near Broadway. Keefer's Island, in the middle of the Snake River upstream from the falls, lies mostly untouched since it was sold to the city for $1.

Idaho Falls is a pretty simple town. Dont go there expecting a 24 hr nightlife and casinos. The I.F. Temple is a mormon center. Yeah true the majority of I.F. is mormon they have their moments but aint all bad. Even though the temple is a religous icon to a not so popular religon it is an empressive building, even in mormon standards it is an uncommon design. The grand Teton mall like the town is simple. People all the way from Driggs come to I.F. for the mall. I.F. is not SLC or Denver it is a central hub of the outlaying area. It is a quite town with simple problems with incredible saroundings as far as the great outdoors is concerned. If you love the outdoors youll love my home. Downtown you'll find some nice quite bars. The Crown is a decent place pool table, foosball and a cigar shop. The crowd runs commonly 21-30. The Frosty Gator is the local sports bar TV's pool table and a few other games it is a decent place to watch some games. Muddy's my personal favorite is a biker bar just dont park directly infront of the bar in the motorcycle parking and nobody will care that your there. Good drink prices live bands on the weekends and a good line up of regular bar flys. The lack of nightlife is made up in resturaunts in town specifically in the Ammon I.F. border on Hitt ST. Texas roadhouse, Carinos and a few more. Cute waitresses decent service cold brews and good stakes. For the ritzy people their is a resturaunt in Ammon on 17th ST and Ammon Rd the name elludes me but it was a great place to take a date. Address: Old Downtown

The Green Belt is a great walking loop along and over the Snake River. You can stop along the side of the river and relax, while looking over to the Idaho Falls. There are also restaurants to satisfy your hunger that are on the River Parkway and on neighboring streets. All in all, this was a pit stop on the way to Salt Lake City, Utah, from Jackson Hole, Wyoming. An hour here and your ready to go. The Town is worth exploring and I wish there was more time to enjoy what looked like a quaint downtown.
