Favorite thing: During the time of the Oregon Trail, this area was called "Devil's Gate", or "Gate of Death" because this was a perfect spot for warriors of the Indian Nations to wait and ambush wagon trains and settlers. Today this is a very pretty 1000 acre state park with a number of attractions like: The Snake River, hiking trails, and register rock.
Fondest memory: The hiking trail to the overlook of the Snake River and the one to see ruts from the original Oregon Trail.
