    No Left turns

    by handiman11 Written Jun 14, 2009

while visiting our fair city, One thing the locals do when driving around the city when it's busy is NEVER make a left turn to enter a street. You might be there awhile. So you need to plan on your stops, and always make a right turn to do whatever. You will find that your driving pleasure is better. Ohh if you do see a Flatlander trying to make a left turn, and has traffic backed up, and you have a boat load on your tail. Feel free to stop traffic for the poor person as they are most likely in severe danger from the ridgerunners.

  • Taxi service in McCall

    by james27 Written Feb 17, 2005

While in McCall you can get around town by calling Prompt Delivery and Transportation.
This remarkable service offers unmetered rides in and around the McCall area. For a slight fee of only 3.00, you can go anywhere in town. In the evening you can ride for free from the nightclubs (it is customary to tip the driver), and anytime you can have groceries or other things delivered for only $5.00. What is wonderful is that they will drive your car home if you need them to at the end of the night. They also offer rides to/from Boise and they have a limousine too!

    The easiest route is along...

by pipster Written Oct 4, 2002

    3.5 out of 5 starsHelpfulness

The easiest route is along hwy. 55 north from Boise, about a 2 1/2 hour drive with incredible views along the Payette River..during summer months kyakers use this river on a daily basis. From November to March or April the road can be icy so caution is urged. Travelers may also use the route north from Ontario Oregon and Payette up through Cambridge, Council, Midvale and several more very small towns but I prefer the hwy. 55 route because of the spectacular terrain.
Staying in one of the many local motels allows the ambitious visitor a great walking tour of the small town of McCall. Within the last couple of years many improvements have been made to the 'downtown' area with new crosswalks, signals, etc.
