Lake Walcott was named after "Walcott," a man who was a Reclamation engineer. The boat docks at Lake Walcott are called, "The Chic Telleria Boat Ramp." Boating, water-skiing, wind-surfing, & fishing are popular at Lake Walcott. Picnicing is ever popular, along with large groups of Summer Family Reunions & cook-outs. Camping is also available in the Park. The old "historical" Oregon Trail (Northside Trail) passed through this area in the 1800's, and the trail markers are posted for hiking & History enthusiasts.

Minidoka Dam, Wildlife Refuge, & Walcott Park is an excellent place to go picnicing for the day, hiking, "sight-seeing," and most especially fishing.... lots of Rainbow Trout, & German-Brown Trout are caught in the waters of the Snake River at Minidoka Dam.
