    3.5 out of 5 starsHelpfulness

Favorite thing: Henry's Lake is a beautiful state park located in Eastern Idaho not far from Yellowstone National Park. It is a nice place to take a break from the crowds and hectic pace of Yellowstone. The park is named after an earlt explorer in the area Major Andrew Henry and is open (weather permitting) from the Thurday before Memorial Day until mid-October.

Henry's Lake has some nice, scenic hiking trails. They are all relatively short and low in difficulty.

Henry's Lake has 44 campsites, plus a few cabins available if you wish to stay at the park.

Just east down the road about 20 miles is Soda Springs. Back in the '30's they accidentally drilled a geyser. It is still going. It would spew water non-stop if they let it. Beaver Bay is a great, secluded little bay on Lake Pend Oreille. It is well-cut off from the main part of the lake so boats are not an issue. Lower Bull Run Creek Falls is more impressive to me than its upper river cousin. The falls are shorter but are in one single fall.
