Every October, Bellevillians gather downtown to partake in the Chili Cook-Off. This is the perfect event for anyone who loves chili and beer. And who doesn't. You can buy samples from each stand for only $.50. Many stands benefit charities or the local fire and police departments.

I've never met someone who loves Stag, but if you do, you'll find plenty of it in Belleville. There used to be a Stag Brewery here and you can still find the beer in many of the local taverns and supermarkets.
Believe it, or not: During the late 40's and early 50's, Stag actually outsold Anheiser-Busch products in the St. Louis area.

Art on the Square ranks amoung the best art festivals in the country. Every May, over 45,000 people flock to downtown Belleville to view the work of outstanding artists and fine craftsmen. This is a must for any art lover. It is located at the Fountain at the intersection of Main and Hwy 159.

Each September, the people of Belleville celebrate Oktoberfest. The majority of the people here have some German heritage and this is a great way for them to hold onto those roots.
