Things to Do

Illinois' Longest Main Street

Illinois' Longest Main Street, Belleville

cckbp7 Says:  Some claim that this is the world's longest main street. I'm not sure if this is entirely accurate, but I do know that it is the longest in Illinois. It is officially 9.2 miles long . It is your typical small town street, lined with schools, churches, and pubs. The downtown...

SkyView Drive-In

SkyView Drive-In, Belleville

cckbp7 Says:  One of the few remaining Drive-In movie theaters, SkyView is one of my favorite things in Belleville. For only $8 a person, you can enjoy 2 newly released films. When we were broke in Highschool, we used to sneak people in in the trunk; but have gotten a little old for that....

Eckert's Country Store & Farm

Eckert's Country Store & Farm, Belleville

cckbp7 Says:  Eckert's “pick-your-own” orchards feature different fruits and vegetables each season. Picking your own pumpkin just before Halloween can be a great family experience. Also, the country store makes some great homemade apple cider.

The Wine Tap: Great Wine, Ambience and Food, Belleville

Big Daddy's 618: Good Food and Cheap

Big Daddy's 618: Good Food and Cheap, Belleville

BigBlueOne Says:  Great little place if you're looking for something cheap and tasty. Looks like it might turn into more of a festive place towards the end of the night so if you're into that sort of thing go late, if not, go early. The Cadillac was very good. Its basically a roast beef...

Shrine Restaurant: Delicious Soups

Shrine Restaurant: Delicious Soups, Belleville

onewithjoy Says:  Walking through the grounds here, you can work up a good appetite. The restaurant at Our Lady of the Snows has a deee-licious lunch menu. They have eight different soups, rolls and a salad bar and it is all you can eat, for less than $10.00 (not counting a beverage). The...

Fischer's Restaurant: Dining in Style, Belleville

cckbp7 Says:  This place is mostly an older upscale crowd, but everyone is welcome. They have daily specials for under $7. Last time I was there, I had a fried chicken (4 pieces) dinner w/ 3 sides of veggies and a salad for $6. Great deal. They also have large banquet rooms for weddings...

Metrolink Map

The metrolink is a railway system that runs from St. Louis to Scott Air Force Base in Belleville with plenty of stops along the way. With multiple stops in Belleville, this is a great way to travel to places in St. Louis, like Lambert Airport. I believe that it costs $2.00for a one-way ticket. It was cheaper before gas went up so much. Still a great way to get to and from Mardi Gras or Cardinals games without the pain of traffic.

Stag Beer, Belleville

cckbp7 Says:  I've never met someone who loves Stag, but if you do, you'll find plenty of it in Belleville. There used to be a Stag Brewery here and you can still find the beer in many of the local taverns and supermarkets. Believe it, or not: During the late 40's and early 50's, Stag...
