Chet (yooperprof) is always on the lookout for new and unusual cuisines to try and this visit was no exception, he picked Chaihanna in suburban Buffalo Grove to have our latest adventure on a Sunday afternoon for lunch. Dee (deecat) was also able to join us along with my husband and a high school friend of mine.

When we arrived shortly after they opened at 1 pm, we were the only ones there, as the meal progressed, a few other diners showed up. Service was efficient and patient with all the questions that we asked about the menu and the food.

The location is a little odd, a storefront in a suburban strip mall, but the interior is charming, murals of Uzbekistan on the wall and one table where you can dine while seated on cushions on the floor.

Favorite Dish: I think between the five of us that we made a good dent in the offerings on the menu. I ordered a couple of appetizers and had the minced kebab for an entree. Dessert was a chocolate sour cream cake. David had the bread, a chicken kebab and splurged with 2 desserts, one was chak-chak, a fried noodle and honey dish and the other was walnut shaped shortbread with caramel inside.
