Illini Women's Soccer
Come to U of I to see the women's soccer team take on the Big Ten conference. In 2006, the Illini went 9- 2- 0 in conference and 16- 8- 0 overall, scoring over 40 goals for the 24 games! They're a delight to watch, and this season looks to be a strong one as well. If you're looking for a sport other than American football or basketball to indulge in, this is your ticket!
Equipment: bring sunblock, a hat, water, and maybe a seat cushion.

If you have the chance, go to see an American football game at Memorial Stadium! Football is a very popular American sport, and the Illini are one of the "Big Ten" teams for college sports! Make sure you bundle up -- it gets very cold in the stands!!
Greet the players as they arrive at Memorial Stadium on the "Illini Walk." Two hours before the game, the football players walk from First St. to the Football Complex along Irwin Drive, just North of Memorial Stadium between the Stadium and the IMPE Building. Meet and cheer them on!!!
This year, I was able to see the Mt. Carmel High School play here at the IHSA state championships. It was a great time, and a great game, too -- even though we lost. :( There's always next year!!!
Equipment: Always bring layered clothing and extra layers (jackets, blankets, etc.)! Remember -- you'll be outside in winter, and the weather is crazy! You never know how cold (or warm) it's gonna be!

The University of Illinois plays its home football games at Memorial Stadium. The stadium was built in 1923 and is a great place to see a game. Seating capacity is almost 71,000.
The Illini are members of the Big 10 Conference, so there will always be quality teams and players coming to play at Memorial Stadium. Legends who played here include Red Grange and Dick Butkus.
Tickets are $35. You should be able to get a ticket on gameday. I would recommend sitting up in the 2nd level if you can't get good seats on the 1st level. Many 1st level seats have an obstructed view of the field.
The food is great here, and the fans are friendly and respectful (for the most part).
Equipment: Wear Orange!
I will get a better picture this fall when I visit again.
