Rainforest cafe: Rainforest Cafe--Fun for all ages

We loved this restaurant! I know that it is a chain but it was our first time there, all of us at least 25 y/o and we loved it! This place is not just for kids. We loved the natural sounding thunderstorms and all the decorations. We were able to find some great souvenirs to take home to your younger siblings as well. The food was about average in price for this type of restaurant, and like the other area restaurants parking was expensive if you drove. The waiter was very nice!! It took awhile to get seated even though there were many empty tables, and service was a bit slow but nonetheless it was worth it! Would visit here again!

  • Rainforest cafe: Great fun

Rainforest cafe is always a great hit. We have visited several including downtown Chicago, Schaumburg, and Orlando FL. They never disappoint. Service is always good, atmosphere is fun and the food is great. The food is a little expensive, but the retail store out front makes up for it (Great place for cheap souvenirs). The decor is great fun, although I have seen a couple little ones frightened by the "rain storms". Do not let this keep you away, just be prepared. Make sure to order a volcano and a pacific rainbow.

Favorite Dish: BBQ wrap, turkey wrap, pacific rainbow, volcano

A great place to come with kids. There are huge animatronic animals, like monkeys, gorillas and elephants that do neat things and make sounds. The only downfall is the kids are too busy watching these animals and the beautiful fish in the tanks to eat. The food is tropical in flavor and the wait staff is very attentive.
We always find some nice things on sale in the giftshop, too, which is great when you have three kids to buy for!
Take advantage of the valet parking - it saves you from having to find a place to park and then having to walk to the restaurant, plus it's cheaper than most of the parking garages.

Favorite Dish: The appetizer platter is my favorite. I order it instead of an entree. The soup is my husband's favorite. My kids love the pizza and the fries. The new coconut shrimp is awesome, too.

We gave Chez Paul a miss. Amanda, when about Lucia's age, fell asleep facedown in her vol a vent there, and it would have been interesting to see how she might react as a mother to her own child doing something similar. We opted instead for the Rainforest Café, which almost fell into the 'too scary' category due to animated creatures.
The decor is faux rainforest, complete with animated creatures, most of which really don't live in the rainforest: elephants, gorillas(okay, so the mist is close enough!!)and the like. Big aquariums with tropical fish, occasional thunderstorm effect without rain. Great place to bring a kid.

Favorite Dish: Chimi-cha-cha appetizer, a sort of latino fried wonton filled with a nicely zippy blend of black beans, corn, etc. The red snapper(I think) smothered in lump crabmeat with roughcut pepper slaw was excellent, too.

The restaurant is decorate like a rainforest on the insinde and out. On the outside there is a big frog. The price is a little exspensive. My plate was $11.99, but was worth it.

Favorite Dish: I had the Blue Earth Pasta which was good. It's pasta with marina sauce,Italian sausage, and some bread.

Rainforest Cafe! This is an awesome place. The food is good, but the atmosphere is absolutely amazing! Everything is covered in Rainforest foliage, and things move, growl, jump around at you- Butterflies all over the place are flapping their wings, there is a huge waterfall with an alligator in it, there is huge aquariums that you can even walk under- I could go on and on. Just go there!
Everything about this restaurant is unique. The even have a simulated thunderstorm inside. Wow!

One of the many themed resturants located in the heart of Chicago. While you wait to be seated, visit the gift shop with many great gifts.
