Lincoln Park and Brookfield Zoos, Chicago
For a pleasure in leasure, go to the lake shore at dawn or at sunset - it's really relaxing, with the skyscrapers on the one hand and the lake on the other, while you watch (or actually join) the joggers and skaters. Also don't forget to visit Shedd Aquarium, Brookfield Zoo, or the Art Gallery. If you have time for a day-trip, take a local train and go to Oak Park, which is a pleasant suburb of Chicago and is famous for Frank Lloyd Wright home and studio (plus the numerous houses he planned) as well as for Ernest Hemmingway, whose birthplace can be visited.
