McDonald's Store # 1 (& Museum)
Ray Kroc first opened for business there on April 15, 1955. But today it is simply a museum. It is open only for a limited time during the summer, but you can look at it from the street any day of the year. While there is a technicality that the 'first' McDonald's was in southern California, this is the location of the first franchised restaurant.
Inside, there are original kitchen appliances, furnishings and even a few wax sales boys in the original vintage uniforms.
If you come here to actually get food, you will have to walk across the street to the current and functional McDonald's. Inside, there are a few glass case displays that have more memorabilia from the 50's era.
