Visit downtown...there is so much stuff to see and do there...unfortunately i was only there for 2 days....but i'll be back for sure..!!
Fondest memory: Chillin in the basement of my friends house(Chrisitne!!)...the basement was bigger than half my house in California.
Favorite thing: Dedicated to the men of Illinois who died in Vietnam. Located in Springfield. You can't see it in the picture, but at the apex of the memorial is an eternal flame.
Favorite thing: Visit the Cahokia Mounds in Collinsville, a World Heritage Site. It is the only prehistoric Native American Village north of Mexico.
Fondest memory: view of river as I am traveling home from work. It was flooding when this picture was taken and often the river is full of trees and debris.
Stroll and explore downtown Chicago.
It may take some effort to find nice spots like this one - along the river, but you will be glad you did it.

Favorite thing: THE HIGHEST POINT IS CHARLES MOUND...ELEVATION IS 1235 FEET...HIKING IS .25 MILES..MY HIKING TIME WAS 20 MINUTES R/T...COST WAS $3.
Favorite thing: Another wonderful Chicago landmark is Navy Pier on Lake Michigan. There are all kinds of wonderful things to do, from shopping, to restaurants, to an amusement park.
