I love the food here; however, if you have babies or small children, I don't recommend the Irish Lion for dinner! I had a very bad experience here when my son was four months old and some friends took us there for dinner. We all took turns walking up and down Kirkwood Ave. with the baby, waiting for the food to arrive, which seemed to take quite a while. Then it started to rain, so we went back inside. When my son got a bit cranky during dinner, we put him in his car seat under the table with a toy and his blanket, which was not exactly a successful ploy, and one of the disgruntled nearby female diners called the Bloomington Police Dept., saying that we were smothering a child to death in the restaurant! A city policeman showed up as I was outside walking up and down the sidewalk with my fussy son (while my friends finished dinner) after the rain stopped. Very embarrassing.
Favorite Dish: Coddle soup -- excellent.

MANY years ago People magazine chose Mother Bear's Pizza in Bloomington as one of America's top pizza parlors -- and they are not about to let anyone forget it :-)
The pizza is pretty good and this reminds you of a genuine college hang-out.

One person wants Mediterranean, another wants a hamburger and another just wants something in the breakfast vein. The Trojan Horse to the rescue. A Greek place, but with a college town yet family friendly feel.

Upland Brewery - The area's newest brewery offers beers brewed on site and a variety of unusual entrees.
Upland Pale Ale
Our American pale ale is a crisp, hoppy beer filled with fruity overtones and dash of sweet malt flavor. American hops lend this beer a citrus-like taste that is extremely refreshing.
O.G. 1.052 F.G. 1.014 A/V~5.1% Made of pale and munich malts; Yakima Valley hops.
Dragonfly India Pale Ale
The Upland IPA is a maltier and hoppier version of our Pale Ale. Note the clean malty fullness on the front of the palate with fruity citrus overtones, attributable to our special hops. Our method of dry hopping creates a floral aroma, and our use of bittering hops lends a strong bitter taste in the back of the tongue and throat.
Upland Amber Ale
Our American Amber Ale has a malty almond/chocolate taste laced with a lush spicy hop flavor. Creamy body combined with robust maltiness makes this a satisfying beer indeed.
O.G. 1.052 F.G. 1.016 A/V~5.0% Malts are pale, munich, 60L and 120L caramel malts. Hops are Yakima Valley American types.
Upland Golden Ale
Upland introduced this ale in the spring of 1999. A wonderfully original twist to a traditional blonde ale. It boasts a beautiful golden color, slightly sweet nose, and a very soft spiciness derived from using German hops.
Bad Elmer's Porter
Creamy chocolate flavors combine with a lightly roasted finish and superb body to balance this traditional brown porter. A fragrant malt/hop aroma and herbaceous hop flavor complete this highly drinkable ale.
Belgian Wheat Ale
A classic rendering of Belgian wit, this ale is light on the tongue and easy going. Our Wheat Ale is made with 50% wheat malt and spiced with coriander and curacao orange peel.
O.G. 1.046 F.G. 1.010 A/V~4.9% Malts are 2-Row and White Wheat. Hops are from Hallertauer lineage with 5 herbs/spices including heather.
