You got to love winter in Corydon. Lots of cold wind and blowing snow for a couple days then a stretch of sunshine and temperature in the 40s then another short stretch of snow then more sun. It cycles like that for two months.

Then comes the flooding rains of Spring. Not every year, but often enough, Corydon is under several inches to a foot of water in the lowlands (which is much of the area).

Then just as things dry out and the May flowers are blooming, here comes the heat and humidity. And it lasts all summer... right up to when the kids go back to school.

The heat lingers in the area well into October, but by Halloween, the nights have begun to cool off and the evening clouds provide some beautiful sunsets.

Corydon is one of those friendly towns where people say hello to strangers and wave at you from their car.
So don't act like a tourist and ignore these friendly gestures..... wave back or better yet, initiate a wave to someone yourself. Too often you see visitors ignore the "hello" and stare straight ahead as if no one is around.
