Helpfulness
Like most American cities Gary once a useful and well used trolley and bus system. Now all that's left is the skeletal "Broadway Express" bus that runs from downtown Gary to the Lake County Courthouse and Government Center in Crown Point. Buses are usually pretty empty.

The South Shore Train, the last remnant of the electric interurbans, runs from Chicago to South Bend and has three stations in Gary, from east to west they are:

Gary Metro Center: At Broadway and US 12. Access from Broadway. There is a parking lot but it appears to be by monthly pass only. Great views of the I-90 toll way, US Steel and the decrepted downtown.
Clark Road: A residential, flag stop.
