As a major entertainment sector of the White River Park, the IMAX Theater uses movies nearly the size of buildings to wow and ah its customers. The films might include underwater sea life, trips to space, or trips to Antarctica, all of which are foreign to the normal person.
Most people are familiar with the idea of the IMAX Theater, and many have visited them, but the area, which the Indianapolis IMAX is located, sits above all the rest. After the movie you can spend time with family in an educational forum or in other entertainment sectors like the Indianapolis Zoo or the Eiteljorg Museum.
The cost is cheap and the movies are amazing, I would suggest seeing one of the films while in the area. Though words can only speak so much, I must admit I was a little hesitant in seeing a film also, but have returned many a time to see subsequent movies. Itýs great for kids and not bad to see by yourself either.
The Indiana State Museum is a very nice place to spend half of a day!

(closed Easter, Thanksgiving and Christmas Day)
The building is constructed with Indiana materials, including limestone, sandstone, steel, brick, extruded aluminum and glass.
The exterior of the museum can even be considered a work of art since it serves as the canvas for sculptures representing each of the state?s 92 counties.
Housing the famous IMAX Theater, the Indiana State Museum has much more to offer than the enormous film theater. In the Crossroads of America that is the state of Indiana, this museum is a crossroads of everything apparent and important to its state. Original works of art, exhibits that you can interact with, and amazing architecture inside, the Indiana State Museum is one of brilliance. You will walk up to the building in awe of its outside structure, but once inside you will be amazed by the amount of inventory and entertainment you will find.
Visit for the IMAX and stay for the exhibits. Bring the children for their education or bring a date for some spur of the moment entertainment. Enjoy the African American Legacy area, or eat at the outdoor cafe. It's great!
I would recommend stopping in the state museum while in indy. It is brand new, and everything inside is very modern. There is an exhibit about the future, about the formation of the earth, and some others which escape me right now. There is also an IMAX theater in the building.
Great museum. Four floors tell you all about Indiana. The first floor shows primative Indiana. Exhibits feature land and animals. The next two floors show different things. One side had a replica of a 1920's town. There is a general store, music store, shoe store, car garage and some others. There also was an exhibit by 4 artists who split up and did a painting depicting each of Indiana's counties. They were beautiful. There is also an exhibit on Indiana furniture through the years. The fourth floor was closed during my visit. I think they were setting up a new exhibit.
This Museum tells the story of Indiana from its native cultures through settlement to the present day.
