A 3-story Italianate brick building with a mansard styled slate roof. Build in the mid-1860's as a hotel, known as the Kelly House. It is decorated wtih cast iron columns on the first story and a corner entry. The interior still has the original columns and tin ceiling (its an autopart store). The exterior retains it's original style (if not original) windows [4 over 1] with rounded arches and decorative limestone molding. Part of the original cornice still exist.

Built in 1914 it is a 2-story Neo-classical brick with stone highlights. The stone is limestone. The bottom is lined with horizonal limestone bands, which support the brick on the upper facade. The words "City Hall" are carved into the limestone arch over the front door. The windows have been modernized, but there remain traces of the original

Kendallville has been around for a long time (in US terms). It's wealth developed in a period when the Italianate style was at it's height. If you visit downtown, you'll find lots of buildings the reflect that time.
