Coachman Antiques: Antiques a place to start

by Toughluck Updated May 26, 2014

    Open daily 10-5. Sunday 12-5.
It's a nice old building, well maintained with a wide variety of vendors, thus many choice and interest. I like the mezzanine and the central stairwell to the basement. It's an old department store, which was once a high end shop in town. The fixtures still show it. Unlike some antique malls, the mezzanine is open, airy and light. The basement is clean, dry and pleasant. It's a nice place to shop. It's the place we always start when we come to town.

What to buy: I don't buy much and the shop has turned over some vendors over the last 20 years. The big book section is now gone, but books are still available, but not many. Lots of well kept clothing, wood furniture and things to fill up your selves.

The basement has a toys corner that is about 20 x 30. Lots of stuff to attract the kids. But thats about all that will interest those two young to have hobbies or be collectors.

What to pay: Runs towards the average in pricing.

Uptown Shops: Antiques on the backside

by Toughluck Written May 26, 2014

This was a new place for us. It's one-floor, adequate aisle and a friendly staff. Some furniture and larger items, but mostly smaller items.

What to pay: Average pricing - lots of stuff under $20.00.
