10. Parking at Washington Park $$$ entry / parking fee , snotty boat people, gestapo guards, police..
9. Washinton Park zoo $$ very sad looking animals in a very bad environment + have to park at Washingotn park parking ripoff $$
8. Blue Chip $$$ nothing like watching old folks gamble away their soc. sucurity checks huh?)
7. Downtown. (is there one?)
6. The Lighthouse museum (cheap but not very informative)
5. The MALL.. (good example of why South Bend leveled their "Scottsdale mall")
4. Lighthouse Outlet mall.. Outlet does not mean bargain..
3. Parking in MIchigan City (park almost ANYWHERE and you wil be visiting the Traffic Clerk
2. Michigan City Police Building (thats where the TRAFFIC CLERK resides)
1. MIchigan City Prison.. (need I say more?)
Unique Suggestions: Avoid MIchigan City.. Sorry but I keep trying to find something redeeming about MC, but have yet to find it.. Its basically a cultural and social void.. In 30+ years of visiting MC, can't say I've ever had a totally trouble free visit. Best way to avoid it is to take US 20 and bypass it.
Fun Alternatives: f you want to see dunes, avoid the Mt. Baldy fiasco and go west to Indiana Dunes State or National Park, if you want to see boats and a light house go to St. Joseph, MI, if you wan to shop or go to a zoo, go to Chicago. My god, South Bend, IN has more to offer, and thats scary..
