    Rushville is a town of about 6200 located along US Highway 52 in Rush County near Central Indiana. Both the town and the county are named for Dr. Benjamin Rush, who signed the Declaration of Independence. Wendell Willkie ran his unsuccessful presidential campaign from here. NASCAR Racer Tony Stewart got his start here. Rush County was formed in 1822. The Rush County Courthouse was built in 1896 and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
