A nice little spot to stop for a light lunch or breakfast. They have nice coffee and the staff was friendly. It is also located right on the bike/walking path that runs through Council Bluffs.
There is a nice outside sitting area. It was comfortable and shady during the morning even in July.
Favorite Dish: We stop here for coffee and a pastry in the morning.
I have loved this place for years. It's just a tiny eatery but has great food and service. The lady who runs it is super sweet. I haven't lived in the area for years but she always remembers my favorite dishes and where we moved to even if it's been a couple years since we saw her last! We try to eat here at least twice when we come back for visits.
Hot and sour soup (have as many helpings as you want) comes with the meal. I hated Chinese food when I was a kid and this place made me love their food! There are some non-Chinese menu items available for those so inclined.
Extremely good prices and never leave hungry.
Hint: Pour some of your Hot and Sour soup on your main course, depending what it is.
Favorite Dish: Garlic Chicken
Hot and Sour Soup (did I mention it's the best in the world?!)
red leather boothes and mirrors give the place a sixties feel, which is appropriate considering they have been around since then, or longer! A local favorite for everyone from kids to seniors, and it is the gathering place after high-school football games. We love it!
Favorite Dish: Friday and Saturdays only you can get a slice of prime rib beigger than your head, and about two inches thick, a potato (I go with hashbrowns with cheese and onion), salad, green beans, and a side of spaghetti for under $20. It is a local favorite! Prices vary from $10 or less to $20 depending on what you get, but you will never leave hungry!
