Logan is a town of about 1500 (down 3% since 2000) located along US Highway 30 (The Lincoln Highway) in Western Iowa. Logan was founded in 1867. Logan is the county seat of Harrison County. Harrison County was founded in 1851 and was named for President William H. Harrison (the 9th). Harrison County has had two county seat and five courthouses. The current courthouse was built in 1911 by J. E. Miles an architect from Detroit. It has a unique Classical Revival style and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
One place I missed, but you don't have to, is the Museum of Religious Arts at 2697 Niagara Trail.
Logan has a couple of nice veterans' memorials on the courthouse grounds honoring those who have served in the nation's military. I feel it is important to remember our veterans and the contributions they have made to our freedom and our way of life.
Logan has a nice little historic district with a few buildings of historical and/or architectural interest. The county courthouse and the state bank are both listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
