Milwaukee Wiener House Number 1 This is an 1950s style restaurant run by the original Greek family that opened it. Order at the counter where you can watch your food being prepared. Sit at a booth along the wall where you can read up on the history of the business and the area.
The chili dogs here are fabulous - order 2 or 3. They also serve ice cold soda in the bottle with a straw. This is the best greasy joint in the area. Leave a Comment Theme: OtherAddress: 309 Pearl St. Phone: (712)277-3449

La Hacienda Mexican restaurant It is really authentic Mexican food and the atmosphere feels very Central American. The wait staff generally speak Spanish, but they have menus in English. There are also sometimes bands that play there or DJ dances. And it is very cheap - the tacos (the small, authentic kind) are $1.00 each. Order a few with a side of arroz y frijoles.
La Hacienda Especial, tacos de asada, y los frijoles. Leave a Comment Theme: OtherDirections: On 11th and Steuben in a particularly industrial area of town. From downtown, head North on Pierce, then turn right on 11th. After you cross the railroad tracks, you should see it on your left.

and they deliver! We have a growing Vietnamese community in Sioux City. Across from the restaurant is a great Asian grocery where you can buy lots of things that you don't normally find in an Iowa city of this size.
all of the Vietnamese soups are good and I always order the fresh spring rolls. Leave a Comment Theme: OtherDirections: 800 W. 7th St. From Hamilton, turn east on W.7th. It will be a few blocks up on your right.Other Contact: (712)252-3937

The menus is incredibly Unremarkable. nothing catches your attention. the dishes are the kind you could prepare at home. Lucianos teach you that you go out to dinner to be with friends and talk and not enjoying the food. there seems to be a snob appeal to this restaurant. The owner informed me that every night there are doctors are in the restaurant eating ( perhaps that in itself is a bad recommendation!) also the restaurant is owned by the chairman of the republican party of Iowa
We started off on a good footing with a Shiraz from Wolf Blass, Green Label. very drinkable. The waitress was very nervous since this was her first day as a waitress and this is the first ever wine bottle she had opened! of course she spilled it.. but a sweet young woman who had been displaced from her home state. the seared salmon was dry beyond recognition. neither of us could finish our meal. the prices are rather high for this economically depressed region Leave a Comment Theme: ItalianPrice: US$21-30 » Currency ConverterComparison: more expensive than averageAddress: Historic Fourth Street District of Sioux City Iowa

In my opinion, this is the only restaurant in Sioux City where the food is healthy and not poisonous ( Daves BBQ and Hu Hot, two recently opened and touted restaurants will kill you with their high chemical food).

The owners..both escaped in a boat and spent one year in Malaysian camps before coming to Sioux City about twenty years ago... welcome you wholeheartedly when you enter this spacious vietnamese restaurant in Pierce Street in Sioux City. There are always some student or other helping them out and you could always practice a little bit of your vietnamese with them. The owners are very friendly and over the years, begin to prepare the dishes to your taste
Bun Ga Xao rice sticks with lemon grass and chicken Pho the north vietnamese soup with various types of ingredients The stir frys are good but too much to eat. Four of us had our blood sugar taken before and after our lunch at Cafe Danh and not surprisingly the post prandial blood sugar had not risen as would be expected if you had eaten american food ( high caloric content ). So the food at Cafe Danh is certified healthy by us even for people with Diabetes! Not very worldly but locals working at the coffee shops make the coffee, thank god the machines do all the work otherwise we will be up the creek.. On my first vsiit, the girl behind the counter asks me: Do you know what a capuccino is? that is perhaps most people in sioux city do not know what a capuccino is not pretentious. good place to sit and enjoy a cup of coffee .. in its usual incarnations
What i like about this place is that there is wi fi high speed internet access here in the cafe. so while sipping your favourite beverage you could surf the web as well. I cant think of another place in sioux city where there is free wi fi.. yesterday ended the annual pow wow of the omaha indians and the weather is delightful, so to sit and sip coffee, surf the web and read.. does not matter which city you are in, even if it is non descript as this one Leave a Comment Theme: CoffeehouseAddress: fourth street downtown

The head waiter is as unfriendly as they come. the owner and his wife are reasonably friendly but not overflowing, mind you. Daughter who waits the table occasionally, has inherited the unfriendliness... But the food is good, and in the authentic south vietnamese tradition..
