Do not be alarmed by the odor you may encounter if you enter Sioux City from the South on I-29. Our fair city is home to several packing plants such as John Morrell and IBP. While these are big employers in our area and bring diversity to the city, they certainly do not smell good. Please note that the odor is confined to this area of town. I only smell it if I am travelling past the plant on the interstate. This lovely aroma is the reason this town is often called Sewer City, but don't let it put you off!
