    Visit the State Park

by leics Written Sep 14, 2012

    2.5 out of 5 starsHelpfulness

Lake MacBride state Park is a very pleasant place to wander, although I suspect it may be very busy on summer weekends.

Entrance is free and there is plenty of hardstanding car parking.

A campsite, picnic shelter (for hire) and lodges for short rentals are available. Fishing is apparently very good, and there are boats and pedalos for hire. Apparently there is a 'frisbee golf course' as well, but I have no idea what that it!

Trails for walking and/or biking wind through the woodland (there is, it seems, a 'prairie' area as well, though I did not find it). Good for birdwatching, good for just pleasant wandering...

Worth a stop if you are in the area, and definitely worth a picnic and a long walk if the weather is good and you have the time to spare.
