downtown movie theater

As I write the Waverly Palace Theatre is showing "The Alamo"; "Scooby Doo 2" and "The Whole Ten Yards". Who says Iowa has no culture?

The ticket price for an adult after 6:00 p.m. is $5.75, but if you feel like a matinee, the show can be yours for the low, low price of $3.75.

A Mega 170 ounce popcorn is going run you $4.75.

And you should know that the Palace Theatre features Dolby EX Sound!

First National Bank, Waverly Iowa

On Bremer Street on the east side of the Cedar River. One of the few buildings in Waverly that merits a second glance. The First National Bank Building is an attractive setting but looking at the bank's website they seem to promote the new ways of banking with: convenient ATM locations, 2 drive up locations, a money connection online, Shazam check!, and bank by mail. In fact, if you check out their website at http://www.fnbwaverly.com/ you wont even see photo of this glorious old building. But it is good to know their president, Jeff Plagge was elected chairman of the Iowa Bankers Association.

Ducks like any place where there is a good muddy pond filled with aquatic vegetation for feeding. Some people like to shoot duck with buckshot--I like to shoot them digitally.
