The Dighton Water Tower is probably the tallest structure in Lane County, although it is rivaled by some of the silos. With lots of wide open spaces, the community boasts a wide range of recreational opportunities which include hunting, fishing and camping. Dighton is home of Lane County Museum, which was closed for the season during my brief visit to the city.

I visited Dighton in November, 2006 on a road trip from Ohio to Colorado. The folks at Dighton say that one of their most famous attractions is a West Kansas Sunset. I enjoyed a glorious sunset that evening, but by then I was a couple of counties further to the west.
