Located just a couple of miles west of Dover and the Sage Inn on K-4 is a second crossing over Mission Creek. As you approach the bridge from the east, there is a turnoff into a small park. This park has become a favorite of for picnics and family gatherings, a usually-quiet place to spend some time. A feature of the park is Echo Cliff, shown in this photo. The area was long used by several tribes of plains Indians for camping, and archeologists have found artifacts dating back to about 1000 A.D. Families today find the clean creek, the sand bars and the cliff a fun place to play.

Whether or not you spend an evening at this bed and breakfast, it's an interesting visit. The old stone house is decorated with period furnishings, and the lawn and gardens are a peaceful place to stroll and relax. There is an article about the history of the inn and the Sage family that makes for interesting reading (see link, below).
