If you're visiting El Dorado, you're probably OK as long as you keep moving. El Dorado has an unstable city government at present, so it's probably best that you don't consider moving here until conditions improve. The photo should give you an idea of the kind of folks who run the town.
The sign says not to drive in to smoke on the highways. There was a bad accident and lots of people hurt when one car hit another that stopped in the smoke and then every car coming along plowed in to them in the blinding smoke. The black patch in the foreground is where the grass was burned. The prairies are burned in March and April to help the grass grow better. To see photos of the pastures burning at night look at my travelogue.
The camp spots at El Dorado Park have picnic tables and grills set up for cooking out doors. Look closely at this picture and you will see that a beaver chewed through the base of this tree so that it fell on the picnic table. WARNING: If you are at a table and see a beaver chewing a tree be careful.
These 'low water' bridges are common on country roads in Kansas. If water is flowing over the top of the bridge don't try to cross it. You might make it but then again you might not.
