Favorite thing: eat at Montana Mike's. If not for the great food, then for the atmosphere.
When the wind blows just right, the air smells like the Dolly Madison factory just a few blocks down.
Fondest memory: I just moved to Emporia, so I don't have a lot of memories yet. The mall is small, but it's a nice mall. Just a few of the stores are: JC Penney, Claire's, Maurices, Hallmark, Payless Shoesource, Sutherlands.

Favorite thing: Because I grew up in Emporia and visit there often I have almost too many photos on this page. If you have the patience to look at them all you'll learn things about Emporia some people who live here don't know.

Q: Is there any bars that have a place nxt to it for a big truck to park at?
A: It seems to me that "semi-truck parking" and "bar" should not cross each other on the same sign.

In Truman Capote's novel "In Cold Blood" he describes Emporia as "a large town, almost a city, and a safe place..." Emporia still feels that way. It has aspects of a town where people know one another...

i grew up there and lived there for 24 years, and in the 2 years i've been gone i've noticed it go down hill. I would say w/ all the illegal aliens working at beef and the somalians that have come in...
