Favorite thing: This local history museum is in an 1887 building at 1047 Massachusetts. It was originally constructed as the Watkins National Bank, and from 1929 to 1970 it served as the City Hall.
Favorite thing: The Douglas County Courthouse is a good example of late 1800s architecture in Lawrence. Drop by to register a deed or just learn a little history about the town.
Favorite thing: The old Union-Pacific Depot has been turned into a Visitor center for the city of Lawrence. Located just north of downtown at the corner of 2nd and Locust, stop by for any Lawrence info you need.
Favorite thing: The Lied Center has brought in some fantastic cultural events since it was built in the mid-90s. Recent performances include the St. Petersburg string quartet and theatrical productions.
Favorite thing: visit the University of Kansas!! The campus is situated on the only hill in Lawrence and the campus is really beautiful. Seen here is the Lied Center Auditorium.
