Helpfulness
The Coronado Museum is a good place to learn about the local history going back to the times of Coronado. I thought the pancake races were most interesting because they still go on today. Liberal competes with her sister city in Olney, England in a pancake race each year.

At the Mid America Air Museum you can see all kinds of great planes and also see how it feels to sit in the cockpit. One stripped down plane has wires to control the rudder so that you can see how they operate. It is a very interesting place and well worth the visit.

When you are in Liberal you should stop in and meet Dorothy. She will give you a tour of her house and then take you on a trip to the Land of Oz.
Like the brochure says... 'Oz-some'! It is a fun place to vist for fans of the original movie. Dorothy was a very helpful guide to answer questions. No trip to Kansas will be complete until you meet Dorothy.

brdwtchr Says: We stayed at this little hotel, the Super 7. It was not very expensive nor was it very fancy. If we just plan to stay over night and leave early the next morning we usually look for a small inexpensive hotel.

Cattleman's Cafe II is excellent. Not just my favorite restaraunt in Liberal but one of my favorite restaraunts I have been to any where.
FRESH TASTING FOOD AND VERY GOOD SERVICE!
Favorite Dish: The chicken fried steak is so big you might need help to eat it. The fried mushrooms were freshly made not frozen prebreaded kind. Every thing tasted freshly made and that is why the food was so good. The salads were good and not the slightest bit wilted.
