Favorite thing: Lindsborg is a fun place to visit between the larger cities of Salina and McPherson. Here one can shop for Scandanavian craft items down town. You can buy buffalo meat from the Smokey Hill Bison Company(www.bisonfarm.com). Get great Swedish pancakes for breakfast. Visit both the earthen Hoglund dugout or the elegant Stenfors mansion. There is much to enjoy in this 'Little Sweden'.
Fondest memory: My fondest memory of Lindsborg is without a doubt attending the Midsummer's Day Festival one June. It is held each year in June. My wife made a 'blomsterkrans' for her hair out of fresh flowers. Hundreds of people wore traditional costumes. We ate great Swedish food, watched dancers, listened to music, and looked at crafts for sale. This is the park where the festival was held and my wife on a four wheel bicycle we rented. I'll add some photos to a travelogue from day of the festival.
Favorite thing: The dala motif goes well beyond the traditional red horse in Lindsborg, where artists have decorated a number of these colorful dalas spread around the city. Whimsical, Fun!
