Throughout the city are many subdivisions and complexes. The whole city is staged for good living and reasonable priced homes and living quarters. It rates as in the top 10 in the country for best lifestyle and prices that are livable.

They OP city has many office facilities that have been built mostly since 1970's to the current day. They are spread all over the city, but concentrated around Metcalf and College Blvd for a lot of them.

Local residents gather in at the bandstand in the small park in old downtown Overland Park on Sunday evenings in the months of June, July, and August. Many nights it's the Overland Park Civic Band, other nights they listen to jazz or folk. The evening this photo was taken, the Overland Park Civic Orchestra was playing and some dancing was provided by a local dance studio.
The park is located on Santa Fe Drive, about 81st Street. Concerts begin at 7:00. Bring your lawn chair or blanket to sit on.

A popular activity for OP residents is heading to the old downtown area on Saturday mornings from late spring until fall. Central to the activities there is the outdoor market where regional farmers bring in their best. In addition, there is often musical entertainment and a festive atmosphere. A nice outing for the whole family, or hanging out solo.
