The main street being Metcalf runs through the middle of the city for about 12 miles; the length of the city limits. It is loaded with retail, and many lanes of traffic. Overall, though, the vehicle traffic moves along pretty fast, given the volume; and it is spread out.
Metcalf runs north/south, and in the middle of the city runs I 435 which is the main thoroughfare of the ring road going around the city. So, overall it is convenient and close by to get on main arteries to get around.
We rented a vehicle at the Kansas City International Airport from Thrifty Car Rental and got a great deal on a mid-size car.
A view south from the King G ranch. Hayward's is at the top of that hill.
