Alexandria is a town of almost 9000 located in extreme Northern Kentucky. Alexandria is one of four towns that has been designated the county seat of Campbell County. Campbell County is named after Colonel John Campbell a Revolutionary War soldier and Kentucky pioneer. The assignments and reassignments of the county seat status reads like a soap opera. There are county courthouses in both Alexandria and Newport. The one in Newport is prettier.
