Karen Viewing the Bison

Great herds of bison ( buffalo) once roamed this area. To the American Indian they were a source of food, clothing and shelter. The last bison in Kentucky was killed around 1800. A small herd has been reintroduced into a fenced area at Big Bone Lick. This was Karen's first time to see bison, and they let us get quite close. As we watched, a few of the bison began to run around their pasture and through a wooded area, kicking up great clouds of dust as they ran. It was a sight to behold.
