Covington is only a 20 minute walk from Cincinnati which is great for Reds and Bengals games or Oktoberfest.

One of the best ways to see Cincinnati is by riverboat. Since the boats dock in Covington, I decided to place this tip on my Covington page.
These narrated trips are very interesting and informative. They also provide a pleasant outing and an escape from the stress of driving around.

This is an excellent place to go and just stroll about, have a meal in a restaurant, and just watch the people. Its most prominent feature is the Carroll Clock Tower, named for former governor Julian Carroll.

The Licking River separates Covington from Newport, flowing into the Ohio River directly opposite Cincinnati. This is a beautiful area, and a fine place for a walk.
Along the way are some 19th century Victorian-era homes, statues of luminaries such as naturalist John James Audubon and Indian Chief Little Turtle, and many scenic vistas along the Ohio and Licking Rivers.
John Thompson, inventor of the famous Thompson submachine gun, was a Newport native; his old home is now a nightclub, located near the levee. Leave a Comment Directions: Along the Ohio and Licking Rivers.

The full name of this church is The Annunciation of the Ever Virgin Mary, Mother of God. Built here in 1871, this is one of the most beautiful churches in Kentucky. The towers rise 200 feet. Our Grandson & Granddaughter were so happy to be visiting here. Activity on visiting an aquarium where all swim free with just glass separating us was a wonderful experience.

This may not be one of the largest aquariums in the country but it is still worth a visit. We went during the Halloween season and the variety of things to do in the aquarium was excellent. There was not only the glass walkway where sharks are swimming around you there is also an area to feed birds, see otters play, pet stinkrays and nurse sharks, discover your water weight (made me feel better), and enjoy a few shows.
Being Halloween they also had a few extra activities. Even my 14 year old didn't want to leave at the end of the day. We visited in 2005 but then it was $22 per adult, $13 for children but there are coupons in the entertainment book and other places buy one get one free making this very economical.
