I try to visit here every time I am in Danville. The food is some of the best I have ever had and the smell alone can make a person swoon and gain ten pounds! They serve deli and bakery items and provide services for catering and weddings.

Favorite Dish: :EVERYTHING!!!!My special favorites are the chicken salad on the fresh sour dough bread, almond macaroons (special order only), and any of their pies (especially the derby).

Guadalajara: Authentic Mexican Food

Guadalajara Restaurant was a short distance from the motel where I stayed in Danville, so after checking in I walked over for dinner. It turned out to be a very good choice. From the looks of the crowd it appeared to be a very popular family eating place in Danville.

Guadlajara offer authentic Mexican cuisine, prepared and served by Mexicans. It was clean and the service was fast and friendly. Tortilla chips and salsa were served as a free appetizer. I ordered a combination dinner of one taco, two enchiladas and Mexican rice. My meal was hot, tasty, ample and well presented. The price of $6.99 made it an excellent value.

Huddle House: AppleBee wanna-be

This restaurant chain is trying to vie for the same customer base as Applebee. Yet the interior of this chain is not as comfortable in decor or seating as Applebee. It is more diner than restaurant.
The breakfasts are a bit less expensive than those at Applebee and just as diverse and delicious as their competitor. The lunch and dinner menus tend more to the beef/potato variety without the extensive selection that Applebee has.

We had a lunch of chicken salad sandwich and turkey club which was prepared well and tasted good. A coke and lemon-merangue pie finished off the meal and also a $20 bill.

Not a bad place to eat; in fact, it was pretty good but it still is an Applebee wanna-be.

Favorite Dish: Turkey club sandwich with lemon-merangue pie
