What did we ever do without the Dame? It's only been up and running for about two years, but what a year it has been! They've managed to have Allison Moorer twice, Iris Dement, the Reverend Horton Heat, Scott Miller and the Commonwealth...You never know who's going to show up. There's always something for everyone. One night they might have jazz, another night hard rock...and then some bluegrass. In September alone they're having Southern Culture on the Skids, Goose Creek Symphony, and Chuck Prophet.
Dress Code: Everything goes here. At the Allison Moorer concert last month I saw people in dresses, suits, army fatigues, and jeans.

When the weather is nice, and sometimes when it isn’t, they give carriage rides around downtown Lexington. They circle around Gratz Park and the DeSha’s area and are a lot of fun. It’s a nice way to get a feel of the downtown area and to check out the local scene. Of course, it can get a little pricey, but if you have a couple of friends to split it with it isn’t bad.

A great place to get together with your friends. In the center of downtown so close to everything. Huge seating area so it is fairly easy to get a table. The drinks are all priced reasonable. Live band that plays a lot of different music. If you come early enough there is no cover charge.
Dress Code: I don't think there is a specific dress code but most people dressed in nice jeans with cute top, a dress, and then seemed to wear khaki's and dress shirts.

We are from Miami and visited Soundbar twice during our week long stay in Lexington. We didn't expect much since we are used to some of the "best dance clubs in the world". However, we were very surprised when we found such a high energy atmosphere with sick beats at Soundbar. We had such a good time Friday night, we didn't even bother going anywhere else on Saturday (our last day). Sure it wasn't as big as the clubs we are used to, but the lights and the music was just as DOPE! We'll definitely be back next time we visit Lexington.
Dress Code: I don't think there was a dress code, but everyone there seemed to be dressed nice/classy/hip.

Great place to go have a drink out by the water and fountains. Very relaxing atmosphere. They often have drink specials. Food menu is good with a lot of choices and on Tuesday nights you can get burgers for only $1 This is a chain type of bar but I still recommend it if you happen to be at the must see Joseph Beth Booksellers. It's also a good place to go after a show at the Comedy Club.

The Beer Trappe has a beer bar with eight taps of rare craft beer, specialty glassware, beer signs, collectibles, and a large selection of hard-to-find bottled beers from all over the world.
They have tables on the outside as well as inside and sofas and a lot of tvs for those that come here to have a drink and watch the game. They also offer beer school and tastings on average about once a month.
A unique place to go when you want something a little different. NOTE: They do not serve food here

Salottos Nightclub is a great place to spend your nights. I am from Atlanta and have to say Lexington's Nightlife scene is basically full of pubs. I was relieved to find Salottos. I was tired of just going to pubs and sitting there. I wanted a place to dance and enjoy live entertainment. Thats what i found at Salottos.
Dress Code: No sweats.

The Legends, Lexington's relatively new minor league baseball team has been successful for the players and fans alike. Families appreciate the low prices and great seats compared with major league baseball. The stands include playgrounds for the kids and areas where adults can have a party while watching the game, as well as the usual type seats. Its fun to try to spot future stars for the Astros. The season runs from early April to early September each year.

The Kentucky Theatre is an old fashioned theater built in 1922, restored to its former glory. It usually features art films, foreign films, classics, or the specialy films that might not always be considered big money makers. It is very popular with college students and younger audiences. The theatre also has live music, including the live taping of the public radio show "Woodsongs Old Time Radio Hour" (Mondays at 6:45)which specializes in "American" folk or bluegrass music, and the Troubador concert series.
