Jalapeno's is very casual, and has good food at an inexpensive price. If you're into spicy food and think their salsa is too mild, ask the chef for the hotter green salsa.
Camarones Chilangos- Shrimp in a creamy (spicy) chipotle sauce with rice, beans and a salad. With a cerveza of course- Bohemia or Negro Modelo. Joe Bologna's located North of the University of Kentucky campus (120 W. Maxwell) has great food and is a favorite with students and visitors. It is located in a historic old church building and has nice stained glass windows. This resturant can be crowded, especially after basket ball games. See http://lexington.citysearch.com/review/4317455/?order_by=positive for other reviews.

Kashmir's has THE BEST Indian food in town. It's lunch prices are well within reason (about $5-7) and it has a lunch buffet everyday. This isn't a chain, it's the real deal. The atmosphere isn't much to speak of, but the place stays busy because of the food.

When visiting Lexington, everyone must eat at Malone's steakhouse. It has been voted the #9 Steakhouse in the country as of 2007, and offers superb service. The meals are pricy, however, they have three restaurants in one and you can order food from Harry's (pub food) or from the Aqua sushi bar. When you go, be sure you talk to John Mcnamara, he is the Managing Partner at Malone's and let him know how much you love the food, he is a cool guy. They have two locations, one in Landsdowne, the original, and one in Hamburg which seems to be more popular and more modern.
Kobe Filet Steak, $50. mported from Austrailia, add a Crab leg to it. Theme: SteakhousePrice: US$31-40 » Currency ConverterComparison: most expensiveDirections: The Lansdowne location is off of Tates Creek road, you can't miss it if you stay on Tates Creek. The Hamburg location is on Pleasant Ridge Dr in the Hamburg shopping center, probablly the busiest section of town, everyone can tell you where Hamburg is.

While visiting Kentucky for the Derby, we made the short trip over to Lexington to tour some of the incredible horse farms. What a beautiful countryside they have! In the evening we headed downtown to dinner for a change of pace-- and lucky for us-- our daughter spotted the colorful umbrellas outside Natasha's. We were immediately drawn in by the worldly charm of this enchanting bistro! The ambiance is both rustic and elegant-- surroundings of art and decor rich in culture and history. Reminds one of urban lofts found in larger metropolitan areas. The eclectic menu was impressive-- with delicious selections from around the world-- including Mediterranean, Eastern European, Asian, and even some local favorites. The kids each tried one of the homemade pizzas-- smiles all around-- no small feat with teenagers!. My husband was quite happy with his pesto pasta (loaded with flavor), and I couldn't have been more satisfied with my greek salad and sweet chili stir-fry dish. We topped off the meal with some fine Turkish coffee. A thoroughly enjoyable experience in every way. Adjacent to the restaurant is their boutique-- offering many unique gift selections-- such as the Moroccan lanterns and other artifacts seen in the restaurant, gorgeous jewelry, Chinese shoes, beautiful Russian scarves, and so much more. A must see! They also offer live music and theatre on a regular basis. We do hope to return to Lexington soon for the beautiful scenery, and another fabulous enchanting evening at Natasha's! Natasha's Cafe has an eclectic menu, trending toward Middle Eastern. This claim, however, is not backed up by authenticity. The ambience is inviting and intimate, and there is an outdoor dining area which would be pleasant when the weather permits. But the food is generally a disappointment to a demanding diner. The ratatouille wrap contained a pile of mushy vegetables that in no way resembled ratatouille. The entire meal was virtually flavorless and my friend's meal which I sampled was equally bland and unexciting. The coffee was weak, transparent and full of grinds. The service was less than attentive and the restaurant was almost empty at the time of my visit. When I registered my disappointment with the waitress about the food, no offer was made to reduce charges or give me a coupon for something off on a future visit. That sort of settlement is standard in other cities. Theme: Eclectic/InternationalPrice: US$11-20 » Currency ConverterComparison: about averageAddress: Downtown Lexinton

After many years of neglect, the Campbell House Inn is being restored and has a great Sunday buffet featuring roast beef, fried chicken, and side items. Another good Sunday Buffet located near I-64/75 is the Marriott at Griffin Gate. Authentic drive-in similar to that in the movie American Graffiti. The late Joe Smiley opened the restaurant in 1951 on a gravel road off Liberty Road, years before there was a New Circle Road. The resturant unexpectedly closed but has been reopened by a group of businessmen who wanted to save this local landmark. With its carhops, double-decker Poor Boy hamburgers and distinctive neon sign, the Parkette will take you back to the days poodle skirts, cars with lots of chrome and fins on the back, and simple box lunches without happy toy treats for the kids.
Frankly, the food is only average (which is the true with most fast-food restaurants). But it is fun to come here on Friday nights when bikers and members of car clubs bring their hot rods and restored antique cars from the 1950's. See photos and story about reopening on contact information below. Leave a Comment

I've listed two choices: For authentic seafood, the Regatta Restaurant (located in the Lexington Green Mall overlooking the lake) is decent considering Lexington is located nowhere near an ocean. Fish are flown in weekly and it has a wide selection. For a local central Kentucky treat, try one of the casual catfish restaurants on the Kentucky River near Athens, such as Hall's on the River. Try the famous snappy beer cheese. This is a great place to enjoy a warm fall day overlooking the river and eat catfish in a casual atmosphere. Leave a Comment Theme: SeafoodPrice: US$21-30 » Currency ConverterComparison: about averageDirections: The Regatta is located in the lower section of the Lexington Green at Nicholasville and New Circle Road. Halls is on the Kentucky River, outside of Lexington near the small town of Athens.

by sabogg01 Classic just like an old drive in diner! The food and drinks even stayed the same price. You get a huge real beef patty burger for only 84 cents!!! The french fries are the best around. You can't beat the prices or the food. The only downside is they only take cash. No credit or debit accepted.
