Many great places depending on your age and interest...Dietrich's on Frankfort avenue is a popular drinking place/restaurant with a cabaret atmosphere and sidewalk seating. It is located in a converted theater and has a very unique and interesting interior. Ambiance !
Anything goes..but probably more toward the country club casual Leave a Comment Theme: Eating and DrinkingDirections: Frankfort avenue.

Hey, for decent bar food, and some fun, go to Oliver's Billiards on Dupont Circle, right off Breckenridge Lane. There are over ten tables there, and games cost $3 USD every night except Tuesday and Thursday when they only cost $1 USD. Under 21 allowed until 10 or so. Nothing special. just a place for 21+ to hang out and play pool.

Phoenix Hill Tavern, locate on the corner of Bardstown Road and Broadway. Music, alcohol, dancing, everything
Doesn't matter too much. I recommend clothes. Leave a Comment Theme: Live MusicDirections: Again, on the corner of Bardstown Road (Baxter Ave) and Broadway. From the Watterson Expressway, head north on Bardstown Road, until you get to Broadway. It is just across the intersection on the leftOther Contact: There may be a cover some nights

Definitely a locals spot, not for tourists, generally, and if you are clean cut and well dressed, you might not fit in, but I recommend the Back Door Bar. It has atmosphere and doesn't have the rich drunks from the east end. Leave a Comment Theme: NightclubDirections: Behind the Mid-City Mall on Baxter or Bardstown, right side as you face the building.

I am not sure whether this should be a Sports Tip or not, but since I rarely make it out past 8pm, I thought I better add it into Nightlife! Lucky Strike is a franchise that is found throughout the US, but the Louisville location has the advantage of being located right in the heart of the Downtown scene. Its Fourth Street location makes it a convienent spot for a drink after work, or a party with a few of your rowdy friends. You have two options when it comes to the bowling side... per person rates or a lane rental per hour. The per person rate ranges from 3.95 to 5.95 depending on what time, and the lane rental is $45 on weeknights, $65 on weekends. Shoe rentals are $3, and there are also billiards tables. 4th Street Live is a nice bar district in Louisville. There are several bars, restaurants and clubs in the area and it's kept clean an friendly. The Louisville Hard Rock Cafe is also located here. They is a glass canopy covering the street which help protect from the elements when the weather is inclement. Leave a Comment Theme: NightclubAddress: 4th StreetDirections: On 4th Street a few blocks from the river. Most downtown hotels are easy walking distance.

Also on Bardstown Road you will find Have A Nice Day Cafe, another nightspot with music, dancing, and of course, booze. It is a bit farther north on Bardstown Road. Leave a Comment Theme: Live Music

Leave a Comment Theme: OtherDirections: 644 Baxter Ave. Follow Bardstown Road north from the Watterson. It will turn into Baxter at some point, I think at Broadway. Phoenix Hill is on the left.

I'm not a fan of a bunch of drunkards. This club had lousy music by my standards (dull, monotonous beat- repeated ad nauseum) Their headlining band wasn't very good- although they do get good bands in occasionally. The theme is country, and you can ride their mechanical bull, or go into various rooms with differing styles of decor. But, (watching most of the people there) standing around, holding a beer and talking to no one while listening to cruddy music is not my idea of a good time. I had earplugs, though, and they have pool tables. A bunch of sleazy guys and slutty girls... maybe that's too harsh...
Whatever...skimpy... no knives, guns or weapons of any sort Leave a Comment Theme: NightclubDirections: 133 W. Liberty St. Downtown
