Definitely a locals spot, not...
Definitely a locals spot, not for tourists, generally, and if you are clean cut and well dressed, you might not fit in, but I recommend the Back Door Bar. It has atmosphere and doesn't have the rich drunks from the east end.
Club X(Dance Rave Club): Club X(Dance Rave Club)
Starts about 3:30-4:00 in the morning on Saterday nights. (Which I guess is technically sunday). They play techno dance music. People do some really awesome tricks with light sticks. They have 2 dance floors which you will find several differant types of dancers. Just jump around a little and have some fun and you will fit in perfectly. As far as I know most any age can get in. Just expect to wait in line for a while your first few times or show up late (bewteen 4:30 and 5) The club is open until 10 anyways and still jumpin at 9
Dress Code: Wear what you like. A lot of people really don't care and wear normal clothes. and some people dress to impress with something a little more flashy. Something that is black light responsive is good. Beads or necklaces that glow are good.
This is a neat little bar that has outdoor seating, both on an enclosed patio in the back and right on the side of the building. It's kind of an Irish pub sort of place, and they do serve food here, but I'm not so sure if it's Irish food. They have Irish beers on top, like Murphy's Irish Red, as well as your traditional American beers. Oh, John Courage is also sold here, but I didn't try it.

Bluegrass Brewing Company: Bluegrass Brewing Company
Much bigger place than I thought! There's a nice bar immediately when you walk in with tables surrounding it. There's also seating in the dining area if you're interesting in buying food. They had a live band there when I went, which was pretty neat. There's also an outside patio which is really nice when the weather is cooler (i.e., not hot and humid), like it is now. They have some darts out there too (although, if you're wondering where the third missing dart is, I threw it behind the partition by accident. Oops!). Anyway, nice place to hang out and have some good microbre beers!
Dress Code: Casual... you'd be ok in a t-shirt or dressed really nicely.
UPDATE: BUCKY'S IS UNDERGOING RENOVATIONS RIGHT NOW SO THEY ARE CLOSED AT THE MOMEN
Umm... bar. I personally feel it's kind of shady, but if you are interested in drinking alcohol, you can't go wrong here. ;) If you're into loud music, small quarters, and an almost weird atmoshphere, stop here! :) Actually, the people who work there were friendly, and it really wasn't too crowded when we went, which was on a Saturday night. But it is a bar... it's not someplace to enjoy a glass of wine!

Friday's and BW3's.... chains...
Friday's and BW3's.... chains of course
I realize these are chains, but oh well. They both have that interactive trivia game that's a lot of fun, and they're both good places to just hang out, have a beer, and talk or play the game.
I do know that if you like...
I do know that if you like clubs, go to the end of Baxter Avenue (well, almost the end) around where it intersects Lexington. Anywho, there are a number of clubs/bars here... Phoenix Hill Tavern, Have a Nice Day Cafe, Jillians, and a couple others. I'll add more specifics on different places if and when I visit them.
O'Shea's Traditional Irish Pub
O'Shea's Traditional Irish Pub
I don't know if this is really a 'traditional' pub, but it certainly is nice. There WAS a $1 cover at the door, which slightly annoyed me, but oh well. The place can be pretty loud with the music and people talking, but it's not incredibly crowded either, so you can move around fine! They have Guinness and Harp, and other wonderful beers on tap here.. I've decided I'm not a big fan of Harp. ;) Anyway, there's a back room with a couple pool tables, and then there's a large enclosed patio off the to the side. Really nice place... was busier later on in the night after we had left and repassed it. Anyway, quality place to go!
Dress Code: Just casual... nothing fancy
Jim PortersCoyotes: Jim PortersCoyotes
Visit Jim Porters on a wednesday night which is lady's night. Hopefully the live band will be Karen Kraft and Kiks. This lady has a wonderful voice and a great deal of energy as a performer, I am sure you will enjoy her wide range of songs.
