Clothing/Shoes/Weather Gear: The weather in May was absolutely lovely one day, then pouring rain the next. Many people recommend the layering method, however I normally dress for warm weather and just bring a rain jacket if there is a good chance. If you are heading to the race track, make sure you bring the attire appropriate for where you are sitting. If you are in the tents, it will most likely be a work event and therefore business casual. On the infield, you have a little more leeway. If you are sitting next to the Queen of England (she is here in 2007), then I would recommend a little higher standard.

Clothing/Shoes/Weather Gear: The Ohio Valley is unpredictable! They say "If you don't like the weather, just wait an hour". Ok maybe it isn't that extreme... But expect hot and humid weather in the summer and colder temps in winter. You never know when it might rain.

Luggage and bags: louisville tends to be somewhat casual in dress unless you are here for business. Summers are warm to very hot and last from the first of May until about end of September..Winters are cool to cold with moderate snow (about four or five snowfalls a year)..Spring and fall are very mild and comfortable with nights becoming cool and days somewhat unpredictable but erring toward warm. Very comfortable weather

Clothing/Shoes/Weather Gear: No special preperations are required.

Toiletries and Medical Supplies: Tetantus shots, malaria tablets(quinine), bubonic plague vaccinations, and sleeping sickness medicines are not necessary as it is a very healthy city. you can even drink the water right from the tap..which goes directly from the Ohio river..through some processing by one of the finest water companys in the world, directly to you. Wherever i go in the world, I always carry canteens of Louisville water because it is so good and keeps me from getting homesick..plus it mixes real good with our world class Bourbon !

Miscellaneous: Well, the state capitol of Kentucky is Frankfort repeat Frankfort...just in case you might appear on who wants to be a millionaire and they ask the question. it is also illuminated at night so you can take a beautiful night photo on an open shutter timer. I have driven from louisville to Lexington and at night the Capitol is visible from the inter state (I-64) and is quite spectacular...

Clothing/Shoes/Weather Gear: Summers are HOT and HUMID... almost always humid. Ugh. Bring light clothing, shorts, etc. if you're here then. Fall is generally cool and nice, as with Spring (although, it can get unseasonably hot in both of these). Winters are mild. It can get very cold on occasion, but generally we don't have that much snow nor bitter cold. Temps will generally be around 35 to 40.

Clothing/Shoes/Weather Gear: The weather in Louisville can be very changeable, especially in the spring and fall. Average daily high temperature in May for instance is 75 degrees; however, it is not uncommon to have days that only reach the fifties. In the fall you can experience everything from beautiful blue skies with sunshine and warm temperatures to sleet and snow. Be prepared for any type of weather during these seasons.

Camping/Beach/Outdoor Gear: There are some beautiful lakes within easy driving distance to Louisville. Some of them (Dale Hollow Lake for instance) have shale beaches that are lovely and flat to walk on, but have sharp rocks. 'Water socks' are ideal footgear for a day at the lake.
